e3cb6ca5-4081-484e-b39a-a00ab6606539LeSports by Eurasia Motorsport aims to hit the ground running as the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) reconvenes this weekend (23 – 25 September, 2016) at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, having narrowly missed out on the podium last time out in France.

Having been forced to sit out on raceday at Circuit Paul Ricard following a practice crash, ‘Kevin’ Pu Jun Jin will be back behind the wheel of the #33 Oreca Nissan alongside teammates Tristan Gommendy and Nick de Bruijn.

Eurasia is fourth in the championship with 40 points and, having claimed a fine runner-up position in Austria and then fourth in France, expectations are high and a podium position is again the target for the team with just two rounds remaining.

“We’ve been building as a team all season and we are now in a position where we expect to be on the podium,” explained LeSports by Eurasia Motorsport Team Principal, Mark Goddard. “That’s why we were disappointed to lose out in the final laps at Ricard when we had a podium in sight.

“We’ve regrouped and now we’re looking forward to Spa. It’s a fast-flowing circuit and that should suit the characteristics of the Oreca Nissan LMP2 package. With that in mind, we think we have a point to prove and we want to be back on the podium.”

Round 5 of the European Le Mans Series gets underway in earnest with qualification at 14.09 CET on Saturday 24 September and the headlining race starting at 13.56 the following day (Sunday 25 September).
