Following up from the superb third position claimed on Saturday, Daniel Miranda and Eurasia Motorsport repeated the feat Sunday afternoon (30 September) at Sepang International Circuit to end the Asian Formula Renault season on a high note.

Lining up third and fourth, Miranda and Eshan Pieris both made strong starts respectively, the latter pushing to try and find a way ahead of his teammate. Pieris was pushing hard when he ran wide at turn one on lap three allowing Luo Kai Luo to gain the position, splitting the two Eurasia drivers.

Miranda meanwhile continued in third position, fending of the advances of Lou. This wasn’t to last though as Luo made a very late lunge for position into the final turn on the last lap, running into Miranda and turning him around.

Miranda continued, taking the chequered flag a despondent fifth. This soon turned to jubilation as Luo was penalised for the move and positions were reversed to make it two podiums from two starts for the team at Sepang, with Pieris classified fourth ahead of Luo.

“This has been a good way for both drivers to end their rookie season with us,” said Team Principal Mark Goddard. “Both have stepped up this year and as the season has progressed, have made performance gains on a race-by-race basis.

“Both have very bright futures in whatever discipline they choose to take, and it’s been a pleasure to have them on board with Eurasia Motorsport throughout the 2018 season.”
