Eurasia Motorsport is in only its first season of competition in the ELMS and has treated 2015 as a learning year, as its drivers Pu Jun Jin and de Bruijn acclimatise to the team’s ORECA LMP2 prototype and the European circuits.

However, the Asia-based team and its drivers have been on an upward curve ever since the start of its maiden ELMS campaign and even led the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring in Austria, and regular top five results have propelled it to sixth in the points going into the final instalment of the ELMS at Portugal’s Circuito do Estoril.

Eurasia Motorsport Team Principal, Mark Goddard, said: “We stated before the 2015 European Le Mans Series began that we were treating this as a learning year, aware that we would be part of arguably the most competitive LMP2 field yet in any top-flight sportscar championship. The aim was to finish at least sixth in the points and we have a very good chance of ending the season in that position. To do so would be mission accomplished for the team! As with all other rounds, except for Paul Ricard where the Official Test was held prior to the season, this will be first time both Nick (de Bruijn) and Kevin (Pu Jun Jin) have visited Estoril.

“Eurasia Motorsport is the first Asia-based team to compete in LMP2 with all-Asian personnel and, of course, a Mainland Chinese driver in Pu Jun Jin. It has been a great learning experience for the mechanics which, apart from the racing, included seeing snow for the first time on the trip through Switzerland on the way to Imola – it never gets below 20 degrees centigrade in their part of the world. The guys have really demonstrated their prowess and we are now confident that our pit stops are as good as anyone’s in the pit lane. We are ready for next season. Watch this space for news of our exciting plans!”
