Frank Yu once again finished in second place in round 5 of the GT3 Asia Series held on the Sepang F1 Circuit. Team mate Eric Cheung spun out of second place but recovered to finish eleventh whilst Samson Chan charged through the field to finish seventh after stalling on the formation lap and starting from the pit lane.

Eric Cheung made another great start using the outside line to jump into second place which he held until turn nine on the opening lap when he spun. Frank Yu had slotted into third place and he then inherited second place which he held to the finish after another great drive. Meanwhile Samson Chan had stalled at the start of the formation lap and by regulation was forced to start from the pit lane. He managed to reach seventh place and was convinced in another couple of laps could have caught and passed a group of three cars ahead.

Round six takes place in the afternoon, Sunday July 18th, and the starting positions will be based on the finishing positions of round five. Frank Yu will therefore start second but with an extra 40kgs success ballast whilst Samson starts from seventh but with 40kgs ballast taken out of the car. Eric will start eleventh and hopes to make another of his legendary great race starts.
