Eurasia Motorsport kicked off the final race weekend of the Asian Formula Renault season today (29 September) at Sepang International Circuit with an impressive podium position with Daniel Miranda.

Eshan Pieris and Miranda got the ball rolling in Friday first practice with the third and fourth fastest times respectively. Pieris moved to the top of the timesheets in the afternoon practice session Miranda third, setting the scene nicely for the weekend of racing ahead.

Qualifying saw Pieris and Miranda record the third and fourth fastest times to make in an all-Eurasia Motorsport second row to the grid for the opening race. Miranda made a good start, battling hard with Antolin Gonzalez for second position prior to a safety car intervention.

The racing continued shortly afterwards with Keanon Santoso challenging Miranda for position, which allowed the leading pair to pull away. Miranda however was able to eke out a comfortable gap to his pursuer and finish in a fine third place.

Pieris meanwhile unfortunately was unable to finish the race as a gearbox problem forced an early retirement.

The final race of the year takes place on Sunday and both Eurasia drivers hoping to finish the season on a high.
