Eurasia Motorsport is pleased to confirm its second Ligier LMP2 entry into the forthcoming Asian Le Mans Series which takes place 22-24 November in Shanghai, China.
The team has already announced the Eurasia New Zealand liveried entry for Nobu Yamanaka, Masataka Yanagida, Nick Cassidy and Daniel Gaunt. The second entry will see Australian drivers Aidan Read and Nick Foster team up in the second Pro entry for the team, with a third exciting driver to be confirmed soon.
Aidan is no stranger to the team and the Asian Le Mans Series having come through the junior ranks with the Asian-based squad, who have roots in the Philippines, Malaysia and Hong Kong. He was second in the Formula Masters Championship in 2016, stepping straight into LMP3 machinery the same year, winning the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup.
He won on his LMP2 debut at Sepang 2017 – aged just 17 – and has become a regular is GT3 racing in both Blancpain GT Asia Series and ADAC GT Masters in Europe. In addition, he competed last winter in the Asian Le Mans Series with Eurasia Motorsport, securing a class podium at the first round in Shanghai alongside the gentleman driver.
Nick Foster meanwhile joins the team for the opening round of the Series off the back of an impressive record in GT3 racing. His most recent success was Victory at the Intercontinental GT Challenge recently at Laguna Seca. Prior to that he claimed pole position at the Suzuka 10 Hours and finished runner-up in the Blancpain GT Series Asia in the same year.

“I’m always comfortable and confident when I walk into the Eurasia garage because of our history, so this gives us a boost for sure. I know from testing and coaching with the team recently that the level of preparation is high, and the laps we’ve put in have been informative. This puts us at an advantage.”

“I got to sample that car for the first time in August this year and it was awesome to be in a car with so much aero. It’s been a while since I’ve been in a car with that much grip since Formula 3 in 2008, so that was a great experience and I’m looking forward to getting back in the car. It will be a steep learning curve, but it’s a great challenge and I’m really looking forward to it!”
