Dominic Storey, Daniel Ricciardo and Zahir Ali put on a tremendous show for the crowd at the Sepang F1 Circuit during round three of the Formula BMW Asia Series.
The first of three races to be held over the AFOS race weekend saw Zahir Ali line up fourth on the grid from Dominic Storey, Aaron Lim and Daniel Ricciardo. Earl Bamber made a great start and drove away from the field whilst James Grunwell, Storey and Sam Abay squabbled over second place. Abay found a gap and took third from Storey who then had team mate Zahir Ali crawling all over him. Meanwhile Daniel Ricciardo had fought his way past Lim and closed onto the tail of Ali. The three Eurasia team mates then spent the remainder of the race ducking an diving trying to find a way past each other. Ali attempted to go round the outside of Storey into turn one, got on the loose and Ricciardo was by. Onto the last lap Ricciardo attempted to force his way past Storey at turn nine, it failed and he dropped back into the clutches of Zahir. That was the order in which they finished after a great display of wheel to wheel racing from the young rookie drivers.
Aaron Lim finished 7th .
Races two and three will be held tomorrow, on Sunday May 14th.
