Malaysian driver, Aaron Lim, has been awarded the BMW Rookie Scholarship prize for the 2005 Season which has allowed him to join the Eurasia Motorsports Team for the Malaysian GP support races.
The Rookie prize became available after those drivers who finished ahead of him in last years Rookie Championship were unable to join the series this year. This handed the US$50,000 BMW scholarship to the young Malaysian. Lim will compete the whole season in F.BMW Asia. “I am really grateful to BMW for their support” reported Lim. “I hope to raise enough finance to allow me to compete competitively over the season and I have to thank Eurasia Motorsport for their help in getting this together at such short notice.”
Lim competed in six events last year with the team and demonstrated great promise with several podium finishes. “I believe we have the strongest driver line up on the grid” said Team Manager Martin Quick “and with Aaron, Daniel, Dominic and Zahir I am sure we will have our most successful year yet in Formula BMW”
