Eurasia Motorsport are no strangers to success in Asia, having recently taken multiple-wins in the Formula Masters China Series. This weekend (28-30 October, 2016) two Eurasia-supported teams will be in action in the first round of the 2016-17 Asian Le Mans Series (AsLMS) in the 4H of Zhuhai.
With its strong technical base, Eurasia Motorsport are supporting Jackie Chan DC Racing, which fields the #35 ORECA 03R Nissan LMP2, and #1 Ligier JS P3 for Ho Pin Tung, Gustavo Menezes and James Winslow, David Cheng and ‘Kevin’ Pu Jun Jin respectively. Over in the Wineurasia camp Richard Bradley, William Lok and Phillipe Descombes share the #99 Ligier JS P3.
“We’ve just finished the European Le Mans Series and we’re straight back out here in Zhuhai,” stated Team Principal, Mark Goddard. “We have a good mix of drivers and, as ever, our aim is for consistency over the championship. That’s not to say our teams are not targeting wins, they are, but we need to make sure we’re there or thereabouts in each (LMP2 and LMP3) category come the final round in January at Sepang.”
Ho Pin Tung has competed in AsLMS over the last few years, while #35 Jackie Chan teammate Menezes comes from a single-seater background but also now has plenty of endurance racing – and success – under his belt having taken LMP2 honour alongside Nicola Lapierre and Stephane Richelmi at Le Mans this year.
European Le Mans Series regular ‘Kevin’ Pu Jun Jin knows the team well as he gears up for LMP3 competition in the #1 Ligier with James Winslow and David Cheng, the latter expecting more success based on his dominant performances – and title success – last year in the same series.
Phillipe Descombes joins Wineurasia alongside British driver Richard Bradley, whose ties with Eurasia Motorsport date back to 2010 when he competed – and won – with the team in the Formula BMW Pacific Series. Williams Lok meanwhile competed with Eurasia Motorsport in AsLMS last year.
