Having secured a stunning debut win yesterday, Eurasia Motorsport concluded the first ever FRD LMP3 Series race weekend (1-2 July, 2017) with a podium position.
The race winning duo of Martin Cao and Garnet Patterson lined up in seventh position on the grid for the Sunday race, with Julio Acosta and Dan Wells starting two rows further back.
Patterson made a great start to gain four positions before handing over to Cao. The #3 car lost a position in the pits however as #20 car had a shorter compulsory stop, but a spin from a rival gave back the position to Cao who brought the car home for a fine third position.
Over in the #91 Ligier, Wells ran ninth early on before pitting from seventh, handing over to Acosta. The tough battle for position continued before taking the chequered flag ninth, right behind a tight squabble for position ahead.
“We can only take positives from the race weekend,” said Goddard. “We were very competitive and we secured a win and a third. Both cars ran without any problems, so we look ahead now to the rest of the campaign with confidence.”
