The first race for the Eurasia Motorsport and Arise Racing GT collaboration was a perfect start with the Ferrari 296 GT3 finishing one-two with Chaz Mostert and Liam Talbot taking the Chequered flag ahead of Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte.

Schutte started the race from 2nd on the grid and took a lead he held until a handful of laps prior to the mandatory put stop. Liam Talbot started 6th after a 5 place penalty for speeding in the pit lane during qualifying. He handed the car over to Mostert in 3rd place with Evans taking over from Schutte, rejoining just behind Mostert. After the pit stops had cycled through Mostert led from Evans with Will Brown on their tail. Rain saw several cars spinning out on dry tyres before a heavy accident on the pit straight resulted in the race being red flagged with 5 minutes to go.

Eurasia’s Mark Goddard said “ It’s a fantastic start for us and a testament to the hard work of Arise Racing GT and Eurasia motorsport. We now look forward to race two tomorrow, Sunday April 14th, albeit with the compensation time of 15 seconds and 10 seconds added to the mandatory pit stop time which is the penalty for finishing 1st and 2nd in the first race”.
