Samson Chan and Cyndie Allemann swept to victory in the Malaysian Super Series event held at the Sepang F1 Circuit in Malaysia on May 27th. They were followed by team mates, Frank Yu and Hideto Yasuoka in the one hour, two driver event. This is the second race in a row that the team’s Ginetta G50Z GT3 cars have finished first and second at Sepang.
Samson Chan started the race on the front row and spent the first ten laps defending superbly from the Audi R8 Ultra GT3 of Philip Ma.
Frank Yu had started from the back of the grid after the propshaft broke on the first lap of qualifying and handed the car over to Hideto Yasuoka on lap 11. Yasuoka, like Allemann a Super GT driver, continued Yu’s rise up the large field to bring the car home in second place.
“The cars ran without any problems at all and Samson did a great job to outdrive the Audi Ultra” reported Craft Eurasia’s Mark Goddard. Cyndie and Hideto both drove extremely well and they now know the track very well for the Super GT event which will be held on June 10th”.
