Australian Daniel Ricciardo finished a fine third place in the final race of the weekend at the Sepang F1 circuit. Earl Bamber once again led with Sam Abay second whilst James Grunwell made a mistake on the second lap and fell back from fourth place to finish sixth just in front of Aaron Lim. Zahir Ali recorded the race’s fastest lap.
Ricciardo stormed past team mate Dominic Storey at the start and kept Sam Abay honest for the whole race. The top three pulled away from Dominic Storey who led Zahir Ali, Aaron Lim and Grunwell. Ali finally found a chink in Storey’s armour and then closed the gap on Ricciardo, setting the race’s fastest lap on the final tour. Storey finished fifth with Lim seventh.
