Fielding two entries in the Asian Formula Renault Series at the weekend (28 – 29 April) in Shanghai, Eurasia Motorsport enjoyed a strong showing with both drivers securing podium positions and carrying forward the momentum already generated from the opening round of the championship.

Daniel Miranda and Kurt Hill were on the pace throughout practice before qualifying fifth and sixth respectively for the opening race. Miranda maintained his position off the line and then gained a position due to a rival spinning. A great Ricciardo-esque dive for position then saw him move into third before continuing to his first podium position of his rookie season.

Hill meanwhile finished sixth after initially gaining ground, but better was soon to come for the young Australian racer.

After starting race two from fourth position, Hill soon found himself involved in an intense battle for the lead after making a great start. A lunge from Luo Kai Luo however cost both drivers time but Hill regrouped and with Luo in tow, closed in on second position. He remained under significant pressure to the chequered flag where he finished in an impressive third position, his second podium of the season.

Miranda secured another solid result with a fifth-place finish after losing ground at the start. The Filipino racer quickly passed three cars, showing his ability to execute clean decisive passes, in what was another strong showing from the least experienced driver in the field.

Rounds five and six of the championship take place at Ningbo International Circuit 26-27 May.
