Eurasia Motorsport is pleased to confirm that it is entering a Ligier JSP2 in the Bronze Driver LMP2 Class for the first 2017-18 Asian Le Mans Series event to be held at Zhuhai International Circuit this weekend (28-29 October).

Alex Au, who competed with the team this year in the FRD LMP3 Series, is graduating to LMP2 alongside the experienced Japanese driver, Keiko Ihara.

Ihara is no stranger to LMP2 having competed in World Endurance Championship events between 2012 and 2014 and also took victory at the Fuji round of Asian Le Mans Series in 2014.

“Our aim is to win the Bronze Drivers Trophy this weekend and I believe with Alex and Keiko we have a very good chance of doing so,” said Team Principal Mark Goddard. “It’s nice to see our drivers graduate through the classes with us.

“Alex is used to driving powerful cars racing in GT3 and with his LMP3 experience I am sure he will have no problem adapting to the car.

“We have known Keiko for many years, she races in Asia in Formula BMW and Formula Asia and of course we remember her winning in Asian Le Mans at Fuji very well. They should make a competitive combination in the Bronze Driver Class.”

Practice gets underway Saturday morning with qualifying later the same day. The race itself gets underway at 13.00 local time Sunday and is free to watch on Facebook.
