Following publication of a wholly inaccurate article by Sporstcar365.com in which it was stated the Krohn Racing would “take over” Eurasia Motorsport’s 2018 Le Mans entry in the LMP2 category Eurasia Motorsport wish to make the following statement:
Eurasia Motorsport will complete in the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018 with a Ligier JSP 217 Gibson fully utilising their entry granted by the ACO for this year’s race, as it did in 2016 and 2017. The team will run the car under the Eurasia Motorsport banner with its Asian crew and under no circumstances has it passed over its entry to any other entrant team or individual. Eurasia is unique among Asian teams, Japan aside, in that it uses its Asian based personnel when competing in Europe.
Eurasia Motorsport was completely unaware and not consulted prior to the publication of the article and had it been so would have happily put the matter and facts straight to prevent this inaccurate and disruptive story being published.
Eurasia Motorsport are pleased to announce that they will run Andrea Bertolini, Niclas Jonsson and Tracy Krohn in a Ligier JSP217 for the 2018 Le Mans 24 hours. This will be the teams third consecutive visit to Le Sarthe for the endurance blue ribband race, having secured solid finishes at the last two times of asking.
“I am happy to welcome Tracy, Nic and Andrea to our team for Le Mans. Eurasia are really keen to make it three finishes in a row this year and with this driver line up we have a good chance of a strong result”, stated Team Principal Mark Goddard. “Our guys are really looking forward to competing at Le Mans again and its important for the team as it ensures we are fully up to speed for the Asian Le Mans Series at the end of the year”.
This will be the second year the team has entered a Ligier, Eurasia having run Jacques and Pierre Nicolet along with Erik Maries in last year’s race.
