Eurasia Motorsport has been granted an entry into this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans which takes place 17-18 June, with confirmation last week that the Asian-based team will field a Ligier JSP217 Gibson LMP2 entry.
Last year the team finished in a fine fifth position on their debut in the category and have high expectations ahead of this year’s challenge.
“It’s fantastic to be confirmed by the ACO (Automobile Club de l’Ouest) at this early stage as it really allows us to plan ahead and get the programme on track,” explained Team Principal Mark Goddard. “We’re pressing on and keen to speak with suitably qualified and funded drivers to complete the line-up.
“It’s a big challenge but we have shown in the past that we can rise to the challenge and compete at the sharp end of the field, so we’re optimistic that we can build a really competitive team for what is the biggest race of the year.”
