No stranger to the team, 23-year-old Daniel Miranda returns to the team alongside a yet to be confirmed second driver and will race the race-winning Hyundai i30 N TCR.
“We have been looking at TCR for several years and with Daniel we could see a perfect opportunity to join with a young talented driver who should be competitive from the first event,” stated Team Principal Mark Goddard. “He is already a National Touring car champion and his year in Formula Renault with us has given him the opportunity to hone his talent to the point where we are confident that he’ll be competitive in International Touring cars.”
TCR is a global success story with National, Regional and a World Championship for the two-litre turbo charged touring cars, which provide close, fast and cost-effective racing. Eurasia Motorsport has joined Hyundai, the 2018 WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup winning package, with the aim to introduce young talented drivers to a career in Touring Cars.
Miranda was the 2017 Philippine Toyota Vios Champion before joining Eurasia Motorsport for a season in Asian Formula Renault. Whilst the Filipino’s long term has always been a career in Touring Cars, the year spent in Formula cars honed his skills and therefore allows him to step up to a regional Touring Car championship with the skill set that only junior Formula cars can provide.
Eurasia Motorsport has a long tradition in nurturing the talents of young drivers. The team was responsible for the early training of Daniel Ricciardo and Antonio Giovinazzi, both of whom will compete in Formula 1 in 2019. All our drivers receive the same level of coaching that the F1 stars enjoyed.
We are talking to several drivers to join the team. Interested parties should contact Mark Goddard at [email protected]
