The announcement of the return of a “summer” junior single seater championship is a momentous development for the sport in the Asian region. Eurasia Motorsport will be entering cars in the series which will help develop the region’s (and beyond) drivers of tomorrow.
The team was one of the region’s junior formula powerhouses ranging from Formula BMW Pacific in 2004 to Topspeed organized Formula Pilota which morphed into Formula Masters which ended in 2018. Over this period Eurasia graduates included Daniel Ricciardo and Antonio Giovinazzi plus many drivers who have gone on to have successful careers. Drivers such as Carlos Sainz and Danil Kyvat also cut their teeth in Asian motorsport as did Rio Haryanto and Narain Kathikeyan. Another to reach Formula One was Alex Yoong.
Asian motorsport has also been the launching pad for successful GT and LMP careers with the likes of Earl Bamber and Eurasia’s Richard Bradley achieving great success. Eurasia is proud of the number of their graduates who have gone on to race professionally and also the number of amateur drivers who have fulfilled their motorsport dreams including racing with us in Le Mans.
Eurasia Motorsport has competed and won in GT and LMP in Europe and Asia. However the pandemic completely destroyed cross border international motorsport in the Asian region. Over the past three years Eurasia has provided management and technical support to teams in IMSA GTD, WEC, ELMS, MLMC, Indian F4 and this year a championship winning campaign in GTWC Australia with the Ferrari 296 GT3. This has allowed the team to remain at the cutting edge of international motorsport and allows us to offer a world class service in F4.
We are thankful that Topspeed is putting its considerable expertise behind the championship and also that the Asian based teams are working together to ensure we have a good grid which offers great value for money to drivers from throughout the globe.
