Rounds 3 and 4 of the Formula BMW Asia Series will be held at Sepang F1 circuit in Malaysia on May 15th. The team’s regular drivers, Dejan de Zoysa and Jonathan Chan, are both looking forward to racing on a track they know.
Dejan and Jonathan were “up against it” at the opening race in Bahrain, racing against drivers who know both the car and track well. “A problem with GP support races is that practice is limited to 30 minutes practice before two qualifying sessions and the two races” reports Team Manager Martin Quick, “New drivers like Dejan and Jonathan really struggle and in the circumstances they did an excellent job”.
Sepang will be a normal Asian Festival of Speed event and will give plenty of track time for the two rookie drivers. Dejan tested at Sepang in February this year whilst Jonathan had a run in a Formula BMW back in January 2004 so both drivers know what Sepang feels like in a Formula BMW.
