Kyle Mitchell battled through from twelfth on the grid to take a well deserved second place whilst Khushlani rued a mid race spin when in third place which cost him a podium finish. Mitchell was first in the Rookie Class.

Zahir Ali took the lead from Jazeman and Khushlani with Grunwell in fourth. The top four split into two groups and for several laps looked settled before Ali spun and handed the lead to Jazeman. Ali eventually spun into retirement at the final turn. Meanwhile Grunwell found a way past Akhil in turn four and this for a while looked like that was how the race would finish. However Khushlani had a quick spin at the final turn and rejoined in seventh place whilst at the front Grunwell caught Jazeman and found a way past into turn one. At turn two the two cars collided, Grunwell was out and Jazemen was able to cruise to a win.

This all promoted a heated battle between David Zhu and Kyle Mitchell to one for second place. Mitchell had demonstrated great maturity in picking off his rivals one by one but once past Zhu with a handful of laps to go the Chinese driver refused to give up. Mitchell did not crack under the pressure and finished a fine second place. Dennis Vollemair was a close fourth.

“We are really happy with the performance of our drivers this weekend” reported Mark Goddard of Eurasia Motorsport. “They are still developing as we would expect of rookie drivers and they have shown they can race and beat some more experienced rivals. I am sure both Kyle and Akhil will win races before the year has finished”.
