Testing is now banned until the first event of the 2009 Formula BMW Pacific Series which will support the Malaysian F1 GP at Sepang. The final six days of practice saw Axcil Jefferies confirm his status as a potential Championship winner with Chris Wootton quickly getting back into the groove after a long lay off.
Testing times can give the wrong picture as it is impossible to know who is running to the regulations but Axcil Jefferies was consistently on or near the top of the unofficial test sheets. “We do not wish to fool ourselves so we ran Axcil’s car within the regulations in order to know exactly what we are capable of and he was consistently right at the top of the time sheets”, reported Mark Goddard of Eurasia Motorsport. “We are sure we have a real shot at the championship this season and after seeing the performance of Chris Wootton we now have twice the chance of winning”.
The official test takes place at Sepang on March 29th before practice and qualifying for the GP support race on April 3rd
