Sean Gelael and Antonio Giovinazzi join Eurasia for Asian Le Mans

Indonesian Sean Gelael will be joined by Italian Antonio Giovinazzi for the final two rounds of the Asian Le Mans Series (AsLMS), to be held in January at Buriram in Thailand and the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
The rapid pairing will race the Oreca 03 Nissan LMP2 Eurasia ran in the 2015 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) under the Jagony Ayam with Eurasia banner, and this isn’t the first time they have driven for Eurasia, as Giovinazzi won the Formula Pilota Championship in 2012 and Gelael emerged as a race winner during the same season.
The Eurasia team has expanded its Asian Le Mans entry to two cars, with the #9 Jagony Ayam car joining the #99 Oreca 03R Nissan driven by Richard Bradley and William Lok in an expected 20-plus field that demonstrates the Asian Le Mans Series’ growing stature.
Eurasia Motorsport Team Principal, Mark Goddard, said: “Both Sean and Antonio started their racing careers with Eurasia Motorsport and it’s great that just three years on we are back together in LMP2. They make a very strong driver line up and we believe we have a very good chance of winning. The car looks stunning in the Jagony Ayam yellow and red colours and normally good looking cars are fast!”
