Eurasia Motorsport’s Dominic Storey finished a fine second in round six of the Formula BMW Asia Series at the Goldenport Circuit in Beijing. Team mate Daniel Ricciardo backed him up with a third place finish.

Pole sitter Sam Abay made a good start and made it through the first corner in the lead whilst second qualifier, Storey, slotted into second with Ricciardo making up a place over James Grunwell and followed his team mate into third place. Abay drove away for an easy win whilst the following three commenced a race long scrap for the final podium steps. Grunwell forced a way past Ricciardo at turn one half way through the race but Daniel repaid the compliment on the following lap at the same corner. That was the order in which they finished. Aaron Lim finished in sixth with team mate Zahir Ali eighth sandwiching Sepang winner, Earl Bamber.

“Dominic once again showed he is a real racer and he is getting closer to the ultimate pace every time he sits in the car” remarked team engineer, Mark Burgess. “Our aim for him was finish on the podium this weekend and already the bar has been raised and we hope he can place one better in the two races on Sunday”

“Daniel will start one place further up the grid tomorrow and he has already demonstrated he has the ability to win. We have a genuine chance of a one two in the race tomorrow” remarked a confident Team Manager, Martin Quick. “In fact Aaron and Zahir are very competitive on lap times and with some luck could also be seen on the podium tomorrow!”
