Malaysian newcomer finished fifth for Minardi Team Asia in round three of the Formula BMW Asia Series. Jonathan Chan finished a fine ninth after starting from the pit lane whilst Dejan de Zoysa retired on the first lap.

Lim displayed his lack of experience on the first lap, losing several places and dropping to 7th after two laps. “They were all over me and I really did not know what to do” reported Lim, “I won’t let it happen again!” Lim clawed his way back to sixth place which became 5th when Robert Boughey left the road and retired.

Salman won the race from Hamad with Charlie third and Ebrahim fifth. Lim was therefore third in the rookie class. Meanwhile Jonathan Chan started from the pit lane after suffering electrical problems on the warm up lap. “I really enjoyed the race and overtook a few cars” said Chan. Dejan de Zoysa retired on the second lap with a yet to be determined problem.

Round four will be held on Sunday afternoon and another great is in prospect.
