The first round of the 2005 Formula BMW Asia Series will now be held at the Bahrain GP on April 2/3. This will give the Minardi Team Asia drivers the opportunity to display their talents to Minardi F1 boss, Paul Stoddart
Dejan de Zoysa will have a real baptism of fire, this will be his first F.BMW event and his first taste of the Bahrain GP circuit. In 2004 the team qualified on pole position with Moreno Soeprapto behind the wheel so de Zoysa can be confident that the car will be well set up for the challenging Middle Eastern circuit. “Dejan impressed us greatly during testing at Sepang and we have high hopes he can challenge the top rookies in this years Series” reported Martin Quick of Minardi Team Asia.
The team are still negotiating with several drivers to fill their remaining cars and they hope to make an announcement very soon.
