Frank Yu finished second from team mate Samson Chan after a race long dice whilst Eric Cheung was seventh, second in the Masters Class,  having run as high as fifth. This is the first podium for the Ginetta G50Z in GT3 Asia.

Samson Chan made a great start to slot into second behind Frank Yu whilst Eric Cheung jumped from tenth to fifth by the first corner. Whilst Yu and Chan battled for the place, leader Tunku Hammam was able to draw away to win the race. On lap five Chan had a great run out of turn 14 and out braked his team mate into the final turn. Initially Samson drew away but Frank was able to get back on terms and took back second place with a brave dive at turn two. That’s how they finished despite a determined from Chan.

Meanwhile Eric Cheung looked happy in 5th place until the mid-way point when his tyres began to off. This allowed Dilantha Malagamuwa and Siu Yuk Lung by, but seventh, and second in the Masters Class,  was a good result from the least experienced driver in the team.

“Frank and Samson almost gave us a heart attack on the pit wall but they both drove well” reported Team Manager, Mark Goddard. “The team has put an unbelievable amount of work into the cars since the first race and a double podium is a testament to that work.”
