Eurasia Motorsport claimed second position in the driver’s championship with Australian teenager Aidan Read today (16th, October 2016) after a complete display of driving performance and car preparation saw Read take three commanding victories to miss out on the FMCS title by just ten points.

This was the sixth consecutive win for Read and Eurasia and the ninth victory of the season from 16 starts in the 18 race Championship, a tally that would have been Championship form in most years and surpassing the team’s win tally in any other season of the Formula Masters China Series previously, including their championship winning season with now GP2 star Antonio Giovanazzi.

This was only Read’s second visit to the Taiwanese Pembey International Circuit but with support from Eurasia’s experienced crew this presented no problems for him. Adapting quickly and never headed throughout the weekend in the races, Read quickly overcame his P2 starting position for the first race by passing and beating eventual Champion Phillip Hamprecht.

“Eurasia have an excellent pedigree in this championship and a strong history in developing future stars of motorsport” said team manager Mark Goddard “Aidan has developed into a promising racing driver In his two seasons with Eurasia Motorsport and this season has grown in speed and maturity in the car at an amazing rate”

“We certainly hope to see him back behind the wheel of a Eurasia car in the very near future” added Goddard.

Next season Formula Masters China Series will evolve with continued support from Volkswagen that will see the cars become more powerful and sport updated aerodynamics and softer tyres. This combined with a Championship comprising 5 race weekends instead of the current 6 but maintaining 18 races in total along with reduced entry fees for competitors should see a very strong and exciting 2017.
