Eurasia Motorsport have confirmed they will be running a new Oreca 05 Nissan in 2016. The team finished 6th in the 2015 European Le Mans Series, its first year in Europe with an Oreca 03R Nissan, and was unique in that the car was run by its Asian based personnel. This year Mainland Chinese driver, Pu Jun Jin, shared the car with Nick de Bruijn, both drivers being novices new to most of the circuits. Eurasia Motorsport has competed in Asian Le Mans since its inception and is currently entering an Oreca O3R Nissan LMP2 for Richard Bradley, William Lok and Tacksung Kim. The remaining two Asian LMS events in January will see the team grow to two LMP2, the second car has a very strong driver line up which will be announced soon.

Team Principal, Mark Goddard, reports “We have exciting plans for 2016. We are an Asian based team with mainly Asian personnel and a genuine mainland Chinese driver. All the ELMS events are fly-a-way races for us so we are already set up to compete in WEC and we seriously considered entering the 2016 World Championship. However we decided to stay in ELMS with a view to being as competitive as possible. Pu Jun Jin is developing into a good LMP2 driver and is attracting a lot of attention in China which is good for the team and for LMP racing in general. Nick de Bruijn will stay with the team and a third driver will join the line up. The driver we have targeted is extremely fast and experienced and I believe the combination will give us a real shot at the title.

We hope to be able to compete at Le Mans subject to gaining an entry. Oreca have been very supportive and we are happy to continue our relationship with them. We have a strong engineering team with the most competitive car and engine combination together with a great driver line up which makes me very optimistic for the 2016 season”.
