The new series for the Tatuus built Formula Abarth 1400cc, 180bhp turbo engined cars will start at Sepang on June 24th before moving to China for the remaining five of the six event series. The 2010 Formula BMW Pacific Championship winning team will undoubtedly bring a new dimension to the Series. The FPC team will compliment the team’s four car JK Racing Asia Series entry and will add another string to the expanding team’s bow.

FPC will consist of six events of two races each. Each event will hold practice on Thursday and Friday of race week with qualifying and race one on Saturday and race two on Sunday. The Tatuus built carbon fibre chassis wings and slicks cars first saw the light of day in the Italian Formula Abarth Championship in 2010 with the latter being joined by European and China based series in 2011.

Eurasia Motorsport personnel know Tatuus cars very well having run Tatuus built Formula Renault Asia cars with Ghiasports Racing for several years. “We are going into this to win and we invite interested drivers to contact us quickly at mark@eurasiamotorsport.com” commented Mark Goddard of Eurasia Motorsport. “FPC will compliment our Formula JK Racing Asia Series team and we look forward to competing in both series for many years to come”.

FPC is a new concept to International Formula Car racing in the region as the cars are all leased from the organizer who will ship the cars to each event on behalf of the teams. Gear ratios, roll bars etc are strictly controlled in order to keep costs down and in-season testing is restricted to official test days only. The series is open to drivers of 15 years of age and over.

The championship winner will receive a four day evaluation with the Ferrari Driving academy at the famous Fiorano Test Track. The leading Asian Driver will also receive the same prize.
