The successful Formula Pilota China Series has been renamed Formula Masters and will be powered by slightly detuned German F3 specification VW engines. VW are using the series to develop the future stars of tomorrow and they in particular are hoping to nurture potential GT professionals as they have three GT championships in the region. If a future F1 star is found all the better. “I truly believe drivers from all over World should seriously consider the series. It offers a genuine opportunity to be discovered by a major manufacturer in what is now the most important region for most major car manufacturers” remarked Team Principal, Mark Goddard. “It also allows drivers to learn their craft if they are following the F1 path. Last year our graduates were racing in F1 (Daniel Ricciardo with Toro Rosso) winning in GP3, (Marlon Stockinger), driving for the works TOM’S Toyota team (Richard Bradley) and winning in Formula Gulf (Natasha Seatter)and the Ferrari 358 Asia Challenge (Pasin Lathouras).”
