Former Eurasia Motorsport driver Antonio Giovinazzi has been confirmed this week as Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team driver alongside Kimi Raikkonen for the 2019 Formula 1 season.

The announcement means that Eurasia Motorsport now has two of its former drivers competing at the highest level in single-seater racing with Antonio joining Daniel Ricciardo on the grid for the coming season.

Antonio dominated the Formula Pilota China championship with Eurasia in 2012 while Daniel won races in Formula BMW Asia in 2006 with Eurasia. Both drivers now enjoy factory support in Formula 1.

“It’s fantastic to see our former drivers making it all the way to Formula 1,” stated Team Principal Mark Goddard. “That means that 10 percent of the 2019 F1 grid began their car careers with Eurasia and received their grounding from our team. Our training programme clearly works well and has helped pave the way for some very successful careers in Formula 1 as well as in GT and Sports Car racing.”

This coming weekend the team will be taking part in the final round of the Asian Formula Renault championship at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, with Daniel Julian Miranda and Eshan Pieris pushing for a strong conclusion to the season.
