Motorsport Asia is very pleased to announce that they have secured a Title sponsor for the Formula Pacific Series. The deal is for the next three years, the 2011 to 2013 seasons inclusive.

The terms agreed between Motorsport Asia and the Title Sponsor will also include a name change of the Series to include the Title Sponsor’s name.

“I am absolutely delighted to have secured this deal to continue the Championship at the same level as in previous years. Obviously with the withdrawal of BMW and the termination of the European Championship, the pressure was on. However, I fully believe that this Championship was great and a vital necessity for the sport in the Region and the development of future young talent. This deal and the strong support that we have been receiving from the Teams and Drivers makes the prospect of next season really exciting,” said David Sonenscher, CEO of Motorsport Asia.

“Obviously everyone is waiting for the announcement of the Calendar and in fact the only thing holding that back is the some contractual formalities. Everything is agreed and I hope to have those signed off in the next couple of weeks so that we can make a public announcement of the Calendar. Frankly, it will not be much of a change from this year but we have one or two exciting new venues, so in actual fact it will be better.” He added.

The name of the Title Sponsor and the new Championship will be announced at a grand launch event, which is being scheduled for the 3rd or 4th week of January. The exact details of which will be announced soon after the New Year.
