Eurasia Motorsport’s Antonio Giovinazzi wrapped up the Formula Pilota China driver’s title by winning the first race of the final event of the season held at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Eurasia Motorsport are also 2012 Team Champions with now only the Asian Driver Class not finalized and that is now led by Eurasia’s Parth Ghorpade.

Qualifying took place in wet bit drying conditions and Sean Gelael was top Eurasia qualifier in 6th place from Giovinazzi, both drivers suffering from traffic on the last and fastest lap of the session. Ghorpade would start 9th whilst new team mate, Sean Hudspeth qualified 10th in his first race. The latter had impressed in the dry official practice by topping the times, a very impressive performance for a new rookie.

Giovinazzi was quicky past title rival, Dan Wells, in a brave around the outside move in the fast turn 12 and then quickly disposed of the rest of the field in a flawless drive worthy of a champion. Team Mate, Sean Gelael, had followed Giovinazzi through on the first lap only to be harpooned at the final turn on lap one by Ren Nagabuchi and was out on the spot with suspension damage. Ghorapde was 5th with Hudspeth 8th suffering from bent suspension after he was attached by Yin Hai Tao on the formation lap!

Race two will be held later in the day, Friday 7th December
