Matt Solomon again demonstrated his potential with a podium finish in round 15 of the Formula Master China Series held at the Sepang F1 Circuit in Malaysia. Team Mate Pu Jun Jin cemented his lead in the China Driver Class Championship whilst double pole sitter and event pace setter, Tanart Sathienthirakul, failed to finish.A wet first of the three races of the weekend saw Solomon stall at the start whilst Tanart spun the wheels and dropped to fifth, eventually finishing fourth. Pu Jun Jin won the China Driver Class finishing 6th overall. The second race ended in tears for Tanart on lap one after he rode over the rear wheel of Afiq and landed in the gravel trap at turn four. Matthew Solomon did well to finish fourth from the back of the grid whilst Pu Jun Jin was third in the China Driver Class.

The final race again saw Tanart lose out with too much wheel spin, dropping several places before the first corner. He was soon up to second and chasing down the leader when he spun into retirement at turn 9, “trying to hard” reported the distraught Thai driver. Meanwhile Solomon was on the move and quickly up to third place which he held to the finish. Pu Jun Jin was forced to pit to replace the rear wing after he was assaulted at turn one on the first lap. He finished the race to score valuable championship points.

The final championship event of the 2013 season takes place at Shanghai on October 26-27th.
