As a result of the Minardi name disappearing from Formula One, it has been decided to adopt the name of the parent company of Minardi Team Asia, Eurasia Motorsport.

The team will trade under the name of Eurasia Motorsport with immediate effect. Martin Quick, Team Manager, reported that all the current team personnel will be retained for 2005. “The team has been nurturing young talented drivers, such as Dado Pena, Tyson Sy and Moreno Soeprapto since we started in 2004 and their current success is a testment to the support and training they received from us” said Quick. Under the Eurasia Motorsport banner we will continue to develop drivers and we still have in place a direct ladder to the top.

Quick is partnered in the team by Mark Goddard and Piers Hunnisett. Eurasia Motorsport is directly linked to Asian Formula Three through its association with the AF3 championship winning team, Team Goddard. Both Tyson Sy and Dado Pena have graduated from Formula BMW Asia to the Premier Formula Series in the region with Team Goddard.

Piers Hunnisett is a renowned driver manager, his charges include F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan, AIGP driver and AF3 Champion Ananda Mikola, AF3 Promotions Class Champion Moreno Soeprapto and in the past former F1 driver Nicolas Kiesa. “I am always looking for new talent we can bring to Formula One and Eurasia Motorsport is an ideal vehicle for us to determine how good a driver really is” remarked Hunnisett.
