Duvashen Padayachee achieved his best qualifying position to date in his Formula JK career with third fastest time in an exciting qualifying session for rounds 7-10 of the series at Sentul International Circuit in Indonesia.

His performance was impressive due to the fact that he was suffering with a high fever. He had hoped he would be fit for rounds 7 and 8 on Saturday but in fact he was feeling worse come race day and did a great job to finish 5TH and 7th, He was feeling a little better on Sunday for rounds 9 and 10 and this was reflected in his results. A podium finish looked likely in round 9 as he was catching the two car battle for second place when a long safety car period ran to the chequered flag. Starting 8th for the final race, Padayachee was soon in fourth place but ran out of time to catch the third placed car.

Aaron Chang finished 6th in round 7 but round 8 saw him drop to tenth after having to pit to change a damaged front wing. Sunday netted a 10th and 8th place. Pasin Lathouras finished the weekend with two 8th and two 9th places whilst Natasha Seatter continues to improve netting a 7th and 8th on Saturday before retiring both races on Sunday with accident damage, getting caught up in someone else’s incident in both cases.

“Its shame that Duvashen was unwell as his data showed he would have been very competitive” remarked Mark Goddard of Eurasia Motorsport. “We now look forward to the next round of the series at Guangdong International Circuit in China on August 14th”
