RicciardoJust three years ago Ricciardo had his first season in Formula cars, racing with Eurasia Motorsport in F.BMW Asia. The Australian, who met up with the Team again at the recent Macau F.BMW finale, reckons the grounding he received from Eurasia was crucial to his current success. Eurasia really does create International Motorsport Heroes.

Ricciardo ended the three day young driver test with the weeks fastest time of 1m 17.418, a full 1.3 seconds quicker than second on the day, Paul Di Resta in the Force India. In fact his best lap was 1.3 seconds quicker than any posted by the 21 drivers who tested over the three days.

“As a team we really concentrate on developing our drivers and we have now had several who have gone on to win at higher levels in the sport who have thanked us for the grounding we gave them at the start of their careers. That makes it seem worthwhile” reported Eurasia’s Mark Goddard. “Daniel is proving that F1 is not an impossible dream and that there is no reason why drivers graduating from karting to F.BMW with Eurasia Motorsport next season cannot be driving a F1 car by 2013”.
