Kotaro SakuraiBMW Scholarship winner, Kotaro Sakurai, has signed with Eurasia Motorsport for the 2010 Formula BMW season. He joins Duvashen Padayachee and Richard Bradley in the team’s line up for next season.

Sakurai joins Formula BMW after a successful career in Japanese karting. The young Japanese driver won one of the two BMW scholarships available for next season at the run-offs held at Sepang Circuit in September. “Kotaro trained with us prior to the scholarship run-offs and BMW obviously recognized what we had seen, that he is a very talented young driver with a lot of potential” reported Eurasia’s Mark Goddard.

Kotaro joined his two confirmed team-mates in a three day test at Sepang from December 15-17th. Sakurai recorded the fastest time of the week, which was attended by several teams. His testing campaign will continue at the next open test on January 3-5th next year.
