Eurasia Motorsport’s Sean Gelael won the final event of the Formula Pilota China Series held at Sepang Circuit in Malaysia. This was his first overall car victory and it was hard earned as he had started from eighth on the grid. Antonio Giovinazzi was second whilst newcomer, Sean Hudspeth impressed by finishing seventh.

Giovinazzi started in fourth place which he made third by the first turn. He then picked off Ikhwan and Wright to taken the lead on lap four of the ten lap race. Once in the lead he began to draw away whilst Gelael was soon also past into second place.  Gelael then set fastest lap of the race as he hounded Giovinazzi and took the lead in a clean move that gave Eurasia a one-two finish in great end to a fantastic year.

Newly crowned Asian Class Driver Champion, Parth Ghorpade, lost his front wing at the start and did not finish whilst Sean Hudspeth impressed by moving up from tenth on the grid to seventh place, setting the race’s sixth fastest lap in the process.

The series begins again in May next year with a new name, Formula Masters China, a new engine, the VW German F3 version and with VW support the series will be bigger and better and the only genuine driver development junior series in the region.
