Taking over from Hua Miao, Lok is a relative newcomer to motorsport, having started racing in 2013 in the Volkswagen Scirocco Cup China Series and Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, where he went on to become a race winner in the latter stages with Eurasia Motorsport.

In 2014, the Hong Kong-based driver contested sporadic rounds of the Scirocco Cup China Series, as well as rounds in the Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) and, most notably, the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s (WTCC) Shanghai and Macau rounds.

However, this weekend’s event on the streets of Kuala Lumpur will be his first outing of 2015 and will act as a warm up for a campaign in the AsLMS with Eurasia Motorsport, details of which are set to be announced shortly.

The 44-year old spent three days in the team’s Formula Pilota car at the Clark International Circuit in the Philippines last week, where he demonstrated a lot of promise on the highly demanding 4km circuit.

Eurasia Motorsport Team Principal, Mark Goddard, said: “It will be a steep learning curve for William, but I believe he will surprise a lot of people with his speed. He has shown great determination to perform as well as possible and we are looking forward to having a great event with him.”
