The Sri Lankan Formula Ford driver signed for Minardi Team Asia after a two test held at the Sepang Circuit on February 1st and 2nd. The 19 year old rookie will be gunning for the Rookie Championship in his first year of International Racing.
Team Manager, Martin Quick, said they were very happy to have Dejan as a member of the team and that he demonstrated good speed and maturity. “He set a pretty good time on old tyres and his feedback was excellent for a driver with such limited experience” reported Quick. “He also completed a lot of laps over the two days and he did not struggle physically so he must be pretty fit”.
Dejan is in fact an accomplished rower, winning two silver medals in the South East Asia Federation Games 2004 held in Pakistan. Dejan was competing for his Country, Sri Lanka.
