Eurasia Motorsport are set to conclude its successful Asian Le Mans Series campaign this coming weekend (22-24 February 2019) at its ‘home’ circuit of Sepang, Malaysia.
With three of the four rounds complete, it’s been a strong showing from Eurasia Motorsport. Nobuya Yamanaka is very much on a learning curve as the Am driver and has made great strides whilst being assisted by the team’s Pro driver, Aidan Read in the #36 Ligier JS P3.
For the Eurasia, the training of drivers with limited experience is part of the team’s DNA, dating back with considerable success over the last 15 years.
With a true-Pro-Am line-up, battles for the outright LMP3 class win have never been a realistic prospect in such a competitive and tightly packed field, but the team has worked hard to provide a forgiving and stable setup to both drivers, ensuring that they can both extract the maximum from the package.
With a podium at the opening round of the championship in Shanghai, the Asian-based squad seek to wrap up the programme with additional silverware in Malaysia.
“We always look forward to competing at the Sepang Circuit,” stated Team Principal Mark Goddard. “We did a lot of pre-season testing at this, our home circuit, and we are naturally aiming to end the season on a positive note.
“A second podium is the objective, but we know that we face some strong competition,” he continued. “Nobuya has made solid gains though and we know that Aidan is quick in race conditions. It’s the final round, we’re optimistic of a good result and then we’ll look forward to the next challenge that is TCR Asia.”
Sunday’s 4H of Sepang gets underway at 12.00 local time.
