Underlining the pedigree of the team, Eurasia Motorsport dominated proceedings this weekend (2-4 September, 2016) in both the Formula Masters China Series (FMCS) and the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup (AsLMSC) at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia.
Very much Eurasia’s home circuit, the results could not have been better with Aidan Read taking three wins from three races in FMCS while in AsLMSC the Eurasia managed and run DCR Ligier LMP3 took an accomplished victory in the final round with James Winslow and Neale Muston behind the wheel. The WINEURASIA Ligier was second today with Yoshiharu Mori and Edgar Lau driving.
The result means that Winslow wins the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup Series with 105 points, 19 points clear of his nearest rival. Team-mate Muston is classified sixth, having only taken part in the final two rounds this weekend at Sepang. Mori and Lau are fifth in the title standings, again only having taken part in the third round.
“It’s been a good weekend for us both in Formula Masters and Sprint Cup,” Eurasia Motorsport Team Principal, Mark Goddard stated. “We’re certainly on something of a roll and it shows that for any driver – experienced or looking to move up through the ranks in Asian motorsport – we can provide the package that gives them a very good chance of success.
“Aidan did a great job to do the triple and we hope he can repeat that again in the final round in Taiwan. James Winslow and Neale Muston showed great pace in the DC Racing (car) with the pole and win, while the WINEURASIA drivers took the win in the JSP3 yesterday and second today… A great result.”
FMCS reconvenes in Taiwan for the final round of the championship on October 15-16.
