Eurasia Motorsport are all set for the second round of the Asian Le Mans Series which takes place Fuji Speedway, Japan, this weekend (1-3 December). Following a successful opening round of the championship at Zhuhai where Alex Au and Keiko Ihara took the Bronze class victory in the Ligier JS P2, it’s an all new look for the Philippines-based team this weekend.
Yoshiharu Mori, Marko Asmer and Scott Andrews form the all-new driver line-up. Mori and Andrews join the outfit having competed in the Michelin Le Mans Cup series this year and prior to that in the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup with Wineurasia.
Marko Asmer completes the line-up and comes with a wealth of experience from his long and successful career in both in single seaters and in sports cars. The Estonian, who worked with Eurasia Motorsport as a driver-coach in 2012, last competed in 2015 in the Blancpain Endurance Pro-Am Cup where he finished fifth and the Eurasia Motorsport team are delighted to have a driver of his calibre leading the team in Fuji.
“We’ve got a good line-up and we welcome back some very familiar faces to the team,” stated team principal Mark Goddard. “Marko has worked with us in driver coaching in the past and we know he’ll be very quick, especially as he knows Fuji Speedway really well from his time in Super GT Japan. Scott is also very rapid as he demonstrated last year in LMP3 with us. Yoshi raced with us in the Sprint Cup and has won with us, so we head into the race weekend pretty confident.”
The race weekend gets underway Friday with free practice with qualifying at 14.35 local time on the Saturday while the 4 Hours of Fuji starts at 12.20 Sunday. Click here for full details.
