The third day of a five day Sepang F1 test ended with Zahir Ali continuing to improve his lap times and newcomer, BMW scholarship driver Daniel Ricciardo, impressing on his first day of the test.
Ali ended the day another second quicker than his best from the previous day, the Indonesian stating that he was confident that by the end of the test he will be right on the pace. “Zahir is giving us good feedback and he is taking a sensible approach to the test, improving every time he gets in the car” reported Team Manager, Martin Quick.
Ricciardo belied his lack of experience by posting a lap time four seconds faster than the target set before the day started. “He is already right on the pace in the quick corners and that’s an indication he is a talented driver” remarked Mark Goddard of Eurasia Motorsport.
