Eurasia’s Partiv Sureshwaren started from 8th on the grid for round 3 at the Sepang F1 Circuit after spinning out after one timed lap in qualifying. He paid even more for the QTT off by getting caught up at the first corner with Hafiz Koh and crashing out of the race.
Partiv looked good for a much higher grid spot than 8th but he went off at T12 after only one lap of qualifying and that was that. V6 Team Manager, Piers Hunnisett, had little to say other than “went off” but the disappointed team and driver knew they had the pace to move into the top three for today’s race.
However it all went wrong into turn one and Partiv was out on the spot after tangling with Hafiz. “I can only hope my luck changes for tomorrow’s feature race” rued the Indian driver.
